Late Lee
McQueen had a fascination with nature and he was excellent in adding the touch
of dark sinister twist to his work. The modern brand McQueen has moved on since
and Burton has tried to stay true to the brand and capture the elements
of nature, whilst still adding her own take on to the topic. Out are the moody,
deep, dramatic elements that were the heart of McQueen and in are the pastel
tailoring, Mongolian fur collars, exploding petals and enormous organza blossoms. Burton describes the
collection as 'a kind of soft futurism. Not cold and structured, but
optimistic and forward-looking.”
